What is “Group Subject Percentage of Marks Secured (%)” in TSPSC Group 1 2024 Application?

In TSPSC Group 1 application 2024, in the “Education Qualification Details—bachelor’s degree” section, the details of “Group Subject Percentage of Marks Secured (%)” have been asked.
If the student has studied in degree courses other than engineering, in their consolidated memorandum of marks (CMM), the subjects are divided into two types: Part 1 subjects and Part 2 subjects.
Part 1 subjects consist of languages such as Telugu, English, and Hindi. Whereas Part 2 Subjects consists of subjects. belongs to the actual degree. Hence, Group Subject Percentage of Marks Secured (%) is the percentage of marks obtained in Part 2 subjects in your consolidated memorandum of marks (CMM).
This can be calculated by dividing the total marks obtained in all part 2 subjects by the maximum marks that can be obtained in all part 2 subjects. The formula for calculating the Group Subject Percentage of Marks Secured (%) is given below:
Group Subject Percentage (%) = (Total marks obtained in all Part 2 subjects / Maximum marks obtainable in all Part 2 subjects) x 100
There are no clear instructions from TSPSC on how to calculate the “Group Subject Percentage of Marks Secured (%)” for engineering students (B.Tech. or B.E.). However, based on the calculation for other degree students, it is likely that you should exclude non-core subjects like English and focus on your core engineering subjects. However, clear instructions from TSPSC are anticipated regarding, how to calculate the group subject percentage of marks secured (%) because there are mixed answers all over the internet.
